January 2008

Manflu

Bleurgh.

Nah, I'm okay really. I'm not sure if I was hungover this morning, if so then the cold kinda covered it up. I'm also not sure if I was drunk when I posted this, but either way I still mean it. Other stuff follows semi-randomly.

I know I haven't been blogging or even communicating much online very much recently, not sure why that is. I had originally planned to post more about most of the items on the "things I learnt" list, and I might still get around to that.

I've started writing a personal statement for my UCAS form, and made some university choices. Looks like I'm applying Computer Science at whatever random places sounded good, unless I get any better ideas.

It's that time of year again: exams. Feeling pretty good about maths, though school decided we're taking both Core 3 and Mechanics this month so it's double stress - I think I'll be okay as long as I keep my calculator in the right angle mode. Physics is scaring me, though I've made some revision notes and it all makes sense as long as I stare at it for long enough. Chemistry is roughly its last two syllables.

Didn't sleep much last night, mostly 'cause I'd been stood up far too much for my back to handle. Don't think I did any permanent damage. I'm due for an operation (kyphoplasty of my 9th thoracic vertebrae and vertebroplasty of my 8th and 10th, if that means anything to anyone other than the surgeon) soon, though I don't have an appointment yet.

Trying to figure out a new year's resolution. Basically either something simple, or something so vague I can say I've succeeded anyway. Been reading back in my diary a bit and I think I achieved what I said I'd do this time last year, not sure what I should aim to do for the next few months though. I know it doesn't really matter, but somehow it's still a little self-esteem boost even though I know it's meaningless.

This is by no means a complete list of everything that's on my mind at the moment, but it'll do for now. And quite frankly, you don't want to know most of it.

Twitching

Nothing's really changed since this time last year. Except.

2007 was awesome.

To everybody who made it so, whether they intended to or not, whether they realise it or not, whether I realise it or not, I owe everything.

To you all, thank you, and good luck with this 2008 business. I predict big things.

twitching and i'm learning slowly...
